MEMBERSHIP DUES
The
Organization of Woodland Lake over the years has been recognized by the
D.N.R. as solely responsible for the beautification and well being of
Woodland Lake. OWL. is trying to improve Woodland Lake through education and
action.
Although
simple as it may seem to most lakefront residents whom are not involved in
OWL., the lake maintenance process is one that takes time, effort, and
FUNDING (membership dues.)
OWL, has
constantly had difficulty in obtaining the necessary monies required to
properly administer weed control treatment, perform dam maintenance, and
other miscellaneous costs directly related to lake water maintenance. For
example, weed control for 1990 is estimated at Sl5,000.00~$l6.000.00. Yes,
this sounds like a lot of money. iris. but Woodland Lake is worth it...
would Woodland Lake look as beautiful and appealing to lake residents if it
was a weed thickened marsh only yielding to frogs, insects, and other such
habitat. This could happen to Woodland Lake in the long term if we do not
all stay involved and pay the NECESSARY price to keep Woodland Lake as
beautiful as it presently is.
Like all other costs in
our economy. Woodland Lake weed control becomes more expensive each year,
due to rising costs of chemicals and their related application. The
residents of Woodland Lake MUST realize the importance of becoming a member
of O.W.L. and contributing to it s efforts Without the sufficient
collection of the annual dues, O.W.L. cannot plan and operate in the “best”
interest of our beautiful lake. Therefore, O.W.L. is asking for YOUR HELP
- pay your dues before May
