Special Assessment District Status23 September 2002 The Township voted today to continue the approval process for the SAD. This means one more public hearing. That hearing is scheduled for October 3, 2002 at 6:30. At that hearing the Township will either approve or veto the SAD. Please come and support us one more time!
As you know, OWL derives most of its funding through a special assessment district set up to encompass the lands surrounding Woodland Lake. This Special Assessment had a five year term and was up for renewal this year. Most of you got approached by an OWL board member for your signature to renew that special assessment district for another 5 years with a meager $25.00 / year increase. OWL is pleased to announce landowners responsible for 63% of the land surrounding Woodland Lake have signed on and supported this endeavor. After a first pass review by the Township they have only rejected 4% of the signatures. So as of this writing we have 59% support for the renewal of the SAD, of which we require only 50% to pass it. As part of the process, the Township will be holding two public hearings on this issue before final approval. These hearings are scheduled for September 23, 2002 and October 3, 2002 both at 6:30 PM at the Brighton Township hall. OWL invites you to come and show your support.
