OWL Announces 2003 Weed Treatment Program

On 19 May 2003 OWL announced that it has all required permits in place and will be making its first application of chemicals for weed treatment on or about 22 May 2003 weather permitting.

The first treatment will consist of a spot treatment due to the unusually slow growth this spring according to OWL president Anita Grapentien.  She said the first treatment would be applied primarily north of the bridge and in 'Hunter' Bay.  No other significant weed growth was discovered during the survey today.

A follow-up 'full lake' treatment is tentatively scheduled for the first week in June weather permitting and as required by growth.
