08/31/2003 Completed Bids Due 08/31/2003 Completed Bids Due At this time 5 bidders have responded.
09/15/2003 Bid awarded by OWL 09/01 - 09/08 Andy Blystra Reviews Bids and makes recommendations Andy contacted bidders to discuss scope of work.
09/10/2003 OWL Board discusses bids and authorizes Dam committee let contract. OWL wanted to meet with selected bidder, DC Byers 1 more time at site.
09/12/2003 Dam Committee meets with DC Byers at site. Dam Committee and OWL President are satisfied with DC Byers Proposal.  Gives verbal go ahead and is awaiting DC Byers to execute contract.
09/12/2003 - 09/15/2003 OWL Notifies riparians and other concerned parties. OWL begins notification process of various local governments and downstream organizations as required.  OWL sends notification to riparians via mail.  OWL authors a press release and posts it on Web.  Also releases it to Argus/Press, News & Free Press, AA News and Township Cable channel.
09/20/2003 Selected Contractor executes contract 9/19/2003 DC Byers Executed Contract. The executed contract was returned to Doug Taylor.
10/1/2003 OWL issues notice to proceed 09/12/2003 Dam Committee authorizes DC Byers to proceed after executing contract on downstream side and exposed areas. DC Byers wished to mobilize and proceed as soon as possible.
09/19/2003 Dam Committee meets with DC Byers Superintendent. The OWL damn committee met with the Job Superintendent at the site for a kickoff.
09/26/2003 DC Byers Mobilizes and Begins work on the down stream side. Work should begin on this date weather permitting.
10/8/2003 OWL begins drawdown of Lake Level (Work may begin immediately on downstream side of Spillway) 10/23/2003 Sluice valve open. After acquiring permits (see here) the draw down finally begins.
10/15/2003 Drawdown to be complete (All work may now begin) 10/29/2003 Drawdown complete to 1 foot level. Closing sluice valve to attempt regulation of lake level.
10/2003 - 11/2003 Work Time 11/4/2003 Downstream chipping complete. Now coating existing re-rod and adding more to downstream.
11/5/2003 Begin Gahnite Downstream The first coat of Gahnite is being applied.
11/7/2003 Finish Downstream. Gahnite is being finished and leveled.  Also identified problem with sluice valve, will not close completely.
11/11/2003 Diver clears Sluice Diver removed significant debris around and in sluice valve.  Sluice closed.
11/20/2003 Project is essentially complete DC Byers has notified OWL that they believe the project is complete.
11/20/2003 OWL Scheduling Inspections OWL requires inspections from both the DEQ and our engineer.
11/23/2003 Andy Blystra Inspection Andy Liked what he saw.
11/24/2003 Paul Wessel at DEQ said he had been out. Paul apparently inspected Dam on Friday and was pleased with the work.
11/30 Tentative Project Completion. 11/24/2003 Project Complete For all intents and purposes the project is complete.
